Affective Model for Intelligent Virtual Agent Based on PFCM

چکیده
This paper describes the architecture for a virtual agent and the implementation of its Affection Module. A novel affective model is proposed based on Probabilistic Fuzzy Cognitive Map to simulate the emotion transferring stimulated process, and the corresponding algorithm is presented. To testify the reasonableness and effectiveness of the affective model, we simulate by MATLAB and the give a reasonable explanation psychologically.

Affective Behavior in Intelligent Tutoring Systems for Virtual Laboratories
One of the most important highlights of personal tutoring is that of recognizing the student’s affective state and reacting accordingly by expressing the pedagogical movements in an affectively suitable way. In this paper, we propose a model for an affective tutor. The intelligent tutor integrates an affective student model based on the OCC cognitive model of emotion, with a cognitive student m...
متن کاملEmotional agents for collaborative e-learning
Revised: September 30th, 2007 ABSTRACT. In this paper, we discuss the social intelligence that renders affective behaviours of intelligent agents, and its application to a collaborative learning system. We argue that socially appropriate affective behaviours would provide a new dimension for collaborative learning systems. The description of a system to recognize the six universal facial expres...
متن کاملArtificial Intelligence in Behavioral and Mental Health Care
The past decade has witnessed tremendous progress in the development of affective intelligent virtual agents and serious games (games used for training, coaching, therapy, and other non-entertainment purposes). These developments, in conjunction with an expanding interest in telemental health, have led to a growing recognition that these technologies can significantly enhance clinical practice ...
متن کاملAgents and Affect: Why Embodied Agents Need Affective Systems
This paper discusses why intelligent embodied agents – concentrating on the case of graphically-embodied agents – require affective systems. It discusses the risks involved in attempting to produce naturalistic expressive behaviour, and examines the specific case of facial expression generation. It considers the approach taken by the EU Framework 5 project VICTEC to facial expressions and then ...
متن کاملInfluencing the Learning Experience Through Affective Agent Feedback in a Real-World Treasure Hunt: (Extended Abstract)
We explore the effect of the behaviour of a virtual robot agent in the context of a real-world treasure-hunt activity carried out by children aged 11–12. We compare three conditions: a traditional paper-based treasure hunt, along with a virtual robot on a tablet which provides either neutral or affective feedback during the treasure hunt. The results of the study suggest that the use of the vir...
